The you for the report my dear Anderson's. This was all done on the backs of free labor. Yes I know they got room and board. The Chinese, India, and Japan at one time in the past consider labor had no value. Only the higher ups became prosperous. I believe this might be the WT thinking. As soon as those countries turned things around and started to pay for labor a large part of the countries began to prosper. The WT is still behind times thinking labor is not worth anything. So they will always prosper materially. Still Totally ADD

Facing My Mortality And Becoming A Donor
by pale.emperor inthis thread is quite morbid so i apologize in advance.. a few days ago i was having a conversation with my girlfriend in which she mentioned in passing that she's signed up to donate her organs after her death.
i was quite surprised because she mentioned it like it was no big deal.
i asked her which organs.

Good for you P.E. I did the same thing when I left the Borg almost 7 years ago. I also watch a program on donating your whole body. It can be used for medical student's or they can use it to study dead bodies as they rot during a crime scene.
Only problem I can see in all this I plan to live to be 100. LOL. I guess they could use me to rot after a made up crime. Take care and live a long life. Still Totally ADD

Some more background information on Geoffrey Jackson
by Listener inborn in 1955 jacko was baptized at 13 years of age in 1968.his life story, printed in the august 2015 watchtower doesn't state the year in which he married, it's fairly general when talking about it.
hmmm, i wonder why?i've come across a recording of an interview with jacko at a hall dedication in another part of the us in 2009 which provides some further information.he married his first wife, jenny, in 1974 at the grand old age of 19. no wonder they didn't want to print it in the watchtower.unfortunately his first wife, jenny, was diagnosed with cancer in 1999.in 2003 jacko was sent a letter from the gb stating he was being transferred to hq and his wife would be given appropriate work.
he initially didn't know why they were being called to hq as he felt they were being very productive in their fijian paradise, he states that they brought 75 people into the truth.

Only thing I can think of is he is 1 year younger than I am. I say that because when I was a kid many of the older ones in the KH would tell me I should not even be there. Young people were not welcome. Also lead to believe anyone in my age group could never be part of the anointed. Remember all the way up to 2009 WT taught the number for the anointed was sealed back in 1935. With that said the only good thing I see is he did was take care of his wife when she was dying.
Since I don't think anyone of the GB are anything special. Why not marry someone younger? They are both consenting adults. It just shows he is just a human and nothing more. Still Totally ADD

can you still record the talks at assemblies?
by greenhornet inyears ago my parents would record these talks and play them back all the time.
when they both died, we cleaned out the house and found 50 plus cassette tapes of recorded talks and they were labeled the year and the speaker at the time.
that was in the year 2000. we just gave them to there jw friends because i did not want to keep them for recording of music.

I remember back in the 1970's to I think 1990 you would see a table setup for the friends to record the programs. The table would be in front of a speaker and out of the way so there was no blocking the view of the friends. Then in the mid 1990's video cameras started poping up. None of it was very good quality. Born Again church and healing Peter's feet
by punkofnice inwhen i left the jobos i went to different churches, depending on where i lived at the time.
i still believed in god and jesus at the time.. i was beginning to feel that there was actually no god but continued with the delusion as it comforted me.. the church i went to had some that claimed they could speak in tongues.
i suspected this was just an attention seeking device and that they were just spouting gibberish to appear special.. i went to a church morning breakfast.

Punkofnice you sound like my wife. She has always said the credit should go to those who spent so many years in education to learn their skill. Not God. I remember those in the cult saying they will wait for the new system to fix whatever health problem they have instead of going to the doctor. Of course here in the U.S. going to the doctor may cause you to lose your house. Maybe we do need to look into faith healng here in the U.S.? LOL.
Is it me or did you get a new avatar? I like it. Great experience you had. It is amazing how people still hold on to some of these beliefs these days. In the immortal words of Forrest Bump " Stupid is stupid does" or something like that. As you look forward to lunch I will be doing the same thing for breakfast. Take care. Still Totally ADD

Uber Cart Witnessing at the State Fair
by truth_b_known inlast thursday i bunch of us working decided we were going to head down to the state fair and badge our way in to get a fletcher's corny dog for lunch.
we had to go to a specific gate to park and show our credentials to get in.
this meant driving halfway around the perimeter of the entire fairgrounds.

Amazing. I know in this neck of the woods SW NY and NW PA I have seen Uber Carts at the county fairs. One of them kind of made me laugh because they put them in one of the display barns for business. Placed them in the very back corner where no one could see them. They was next to the anti-abortion table. One table showing the horrors of abortion the other showing a DVD JW cartoon.
Most of the people just walk by not even looking at it. The 2 women sitting behind the CART were the only ones all dressed up. They really looked out of place. Good find Truth. Still Totally ADD

What I went through in the cult as a child has hardened me into not believing in God. What I have read on this board of horrible experiences by others has convince me even more that there is no God. It took me a long time to come to this conclusion but I feel at peace with it. Still Totally ADD

The wonder of scientific research
by amicabl inthis has possibly been brought up before however here goes.. constant reference is made by many posters to scientific research as being the only way to prove something factual that would otherwise have to be taken on faith.
there actually seems to be "faith" in scientific findings.. my experience over many years is that most scientific research is fake.
nothing oftencomes of the big announcements made to raise more money.. money, prestige, pride, human error, suppositions etc., are rife amongst the scientific community.. i realise that there have been many advances over hundreds of years but humankind is in a mess, although very different to even a century ago.. the medical profession now has vaccinations for everything, antiviral drugs etc.

I do know one thing if it wasn't for scientific research and the skills of trained doctors my back surgery would not have been possible. I forgot to say Robby the Robot would not have been developed if it was not for scientific research. He was the one that perfectly but the screws to me during my surgery. Still Totally ADD
